Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills personality Teddi Mellencamp performed as Calla Lily on The Masked Singer before her elimination in week two of Fox’s competition show.
Revealed:
Calla Lily went home despite wowing the judges with her performance of John Cougar Mellencamp’s Jack and Diane. Judge Jenny McCarthy raved that Teddi had “blossomed.”
The Two T’s podcaster hinted that she had received a health diagnosis that made her world stop when she sang Fight Song. “But then I thought about my children. I chose to face my fears and fight. And it seems to be working.”
Famous father:
Calla Lily teased that one of her loved ones was connected to celebrating the U.S.A. “I can’t celebrate America and not mention an American legend.” She hinted, “He’s an icon. But to me, he’s so much more.”
The RHOBH alum explained that this particular member of her family was rather strict. They once grounded her in front of Madonna and Sean Penn for being late to dinner. “For a while, I resented him for not making my life easy. And there were years we were distant.”
“I’m thankful for all he does for me. It made me tough, strong, and always on time for dinner.”
The clues:
After her performance, the judges were given another clue: a diamond house key. Jenny had an idea of who it could be. “I see a house key and I see a diamond. And that sounds like a Beverly Hills Housewife to me.”
“Put the clues together: gummy bear. Bear. Teddi. Cougar, dad’s nickname. Mellencamp. Cougar. This is Teddi Mellencamp from the Housewives.”
Jenny admitted she “could be wrong” but based on all the clues she saw, they pointed “in that direction.” Jenny continued, “I just honor your journey, and I feel so honored to have you here.”
