Despite their impending divorce, Kyle Cooke is still supporting his estranged wife, Amanda Batula.
On April 1, the Summer House star did his first “interview” with street journalist Adam Glyn, opening up about his visceral reaction to the confirmation of Amanda and West Wilson’s fling.
“I understand people have all sorts of opinions, and I’m not justifying any behavior, but from where I’m standing, she’s kind of getting cyberbullied,” he said.
Kyle admitted he did receive a heads up from Amanda prior to her and West dropping their statements.
However, like the rest of us, he found out around the same time we did.
Kyle couldn’t ignore the evidence that began to pile up suggesting the duo were more than friends.
He tried to “give everybody the benefit of the doubt,” especially given how flirty and “how handsy” West and Amanda were last summer.
AKA the season of Summer House we’re currently watching play out on Bravo.
Despite how “frustrated” and “disappointed” he is with Amanda, it’s been difficult for him to reconcile the hate Amanda is getting vs. West.
“I’m obviously disappointed in her, but just hearing her and how unwell she is — [having] dark thoughts — I just ask people to maybe let off the gas a little bit with the cyberbullying and hate.”
The Loverboy owner urged fans to think twice before showing “support” to one but not the other.
“Amanda deals with mental health issues. Before cyberbullying her and then giving West a follow, maybe think twice,” he said.
In Case You Missed It:
Since 2023, Amanda has been open about her struggles with severe depression and anxiety, which she’s managed with medication and therapy.
She credits antidepressants with helping her feel like herself again and emphasizes reducing the stigma surrounding mental health treatment.
We all know what Amanda (and West) did was careless, callous, and extremely selfish.
But, its also important to note that cyberbullying is never okay.
