Katie Thurston cancer battle became even more difficult as the former Bachelorette revealed she is in “medically induced menopause.”
The 34-year-old was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, which has progressed to stage 4. Katie shared an update on her Instagram story.
Katie’s journey:
Bachelor Nation‘s star explained she “Slept like sh*t because I’m now in medically induced menopause, which means I get hot flashes.”
She told her Insta followers, “Tonight I have to be social. So, I figured I would ease into that by being social with you guys during the day. In the meantime, show you kind of what a normal day looks like for me.”
Katie proceeded to have a sip of water. “My lips have been chapped for what feels like two weeks straight. And so it’s this game of, like, catch-up and trying to just make sure I get enough water.”
She continued, “I was already bad at it before medication, and now it’s like a true task every day to force myself to consume water. So, good morning!”
She wrote across the clip: “Tired AF from menopause and dehydration AF from medication.”

Katie and comedian Jeff Arcuri were married on Saturday, March 22nd, a month after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Katie and the comedian exchanged “I do’s” in an intimate backyard ceremony in their home, according to reports from US Weekly.
Jeff was asked how Katie’s stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis has affected their relationship. “You would think it would cause more tribulation or problems, but it’s bonded us more than anything else.”
