The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Jen Affleck and Zac Affleck explained how they turned to Ketamine therapy to help their marriage.
During an interview with In Touch, Zac explained that he disapproved of his wife attending a Chippendales male striptease performance and how that led to a breakthrough for them.
Ketamine therapy:
Jen said, “Ketamine therapy is supposed to reset a lot of past traumas or habits you’ve created.” But, “Ketamine is in a gray area when it comes to the church.”
The couple injected ketamine into their body via IV and enjoyed the effects in a cozy setting for an hour.
“We were already doing so much therapy. So, we were looking for anything to help us during that time with our mental health and marriage,” explained the MomToker. “If this can really reset my neural pathways [and] help with trauma, then let’s do it.”
How they got here:
Jen revealed that ketamine therapy was her husband’s idea after he learned more about the process in medical school.
Their decision to be open about their ketamine therapy journey was a “gray area” in the Mormon church. The drug isn’t prohibited in the guidelines. “It can be a party drug, and it can be abused.”
“If you have the right intention and you do it in the proper setting with a doctor, it can be super impactful,” according to Zac.
Jen and Zac aren’t the only reality TV personalities to use Ketamine with medical guidance. Molly O’Connell from Southern Charm revealed that ketamine infusions improved the quality of her life.
