Real Housewives of Orange County star Gina Kirschenheiter‘s boyfriend, Travis Mullen, had custody of one of his sons reinstated amid his court battle with his ex-wife, Meghan Mullen.
The Judge’s ruling:
Us Weekly obtained court docs that revealed a hearing was held on November 18. The exes – who wed in 2010 and split in 2016 – faced off in court.
The court ordered Meghan to bring one of their sons to court and turn him over to Travis. Per the order, Meghan was not to have contact with the child until December 6, and then she would have monitored visitation.
Travis will have temporary physical custody of the son. Meghan will also be allowed to FaceTime her children, but Travis can monitor the calls. The judge ordered both parties to refrain from using illegal drugs or non-prescribed medications while having custody of their kids.
Meghan was ordered to submit to drug testing within six hours of a request, for which Travis will pay the fees. If Meghan fails two consecutive drug tests, she will have her custody immediately suspended.
Travis cannot request more than three tests per month, unless one of the tests is positive.
How they got here:
Travis claimed Meghan had refused to allow him to see the child for a period of time. “I have reached out to local police to enforce the current order, but they have not been helpful. I am concerned for [the son’s welfare] and feel that the ‘system’ has completely failed him.”
“This behavior on the part of [Meghan] has been occurring for over a year. I feel that nobody is advocating [son’s name]. I need assistance from the court to ensure that [son’s] needs are met, and that my son and I continue to have a close and loving relationship.”
Allegedly, Meghan failed to take their son to school countless times, which led to officials threatening to call the district attorney.
