Next Gen NYC star Georgia McCann discussed her complicated history with handwashing and her love of baths.
Georgina’s hygiene has been a topic of conversation since her co-star, Riley Burruss, noticed she didn’t wash up after using the bathroom.
During an appearance on Gia Giudice’s podcast, Casual Chaos, Georgia explained that she wasn’t raised to wash her hands. “I was never told, ‘Wash your hands before dinner,’ by my parents. That was never told to me.”
“On top of that, my parents are very natural, organic people. They don’t even like candles because they don’t want the scent. They make their own cleaning stuff. They’re very, very, like, chemical. They’re more worried about chemicals in cleaning products and germs, I would say.” Georgia’s parents worried about “chemical makeup and what can harm you with the outcome of that.”
“A big part of my upbringing was, like, ‘We don’t wear these fabrics; We don’t want to clean with these things. We don’t cook with these things. Not in a crazy way … that was just sort of how it was. Honestly, there are some things I’m trying to think specifically, but my mom has been right about some things. She’s like, “Oh, that’s cancer-causing, that’s cancer-causing. No plastic cups at all growing up, like things like that.”
Georgia took this opportunity to clear the air regarding her personal hygiene. “I’m not dirty. I take a bath probably six times a day. Cause I love the state of being in a bath. I might be cleaner than everyone, low-key.”
“Whenever there’s like a lull, or I’m like, oh, I’m really exhausted. I just hop in the bath. So I’m really bathing all the time, honestly. My towels never dry.”
