Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Emily Simpson channeled her inner Joan Rivers and called the Fashion Police on Gretchen Rossi.
“Costume,” not couture:
Emily told Page Six that Gretchen’s style appears to be inspired by the 1970s TV series Little House on the Prairie … which Kyle Richards starred on as a child. All roads lead to Bravo!
“We actually get in an argument [when she wore this ensemble], but it looks very ‘Little House on the Prairie.’ Like, I thought she was gonna get in a covered wagon and leave the argument.”
“So there was that one.”
Emily noted that Gretchen’s questionable “costume” choices were consistent during the show’s 19th season. “There’s another one where it’s like a mix between Hamburglar and Sherlock Holmes.”
“It is creative,” she teased before making it clear that her shade was all in jest. “I say these things to her. Like, we joke.”
“She’ll even make jokes when she puts something on and she’s like, ‘I knew Emily was going to say something.’ Like, you bet I am! It’s fun. We have fun with it.”
Does Gretchen need a Tabitha Coffey consultation?
While Emily won’t ask to borrow any of Gretchen’s fits in the foreseeable future, she loves her signature platinum blond locks.
“It does look healthy. She does have good blond [hair]. You never can see regrowth. I don’t understand that!” The attorney reasoned, “She must color it weekly because I don’t know how you don’t get any kind of regrowth.” (How Elle Woods of her!)
But, Emily couldn’t resist throwing a little shade Gretchen’s way. “And it doesn’t move! I make fun of it. I call it, like, a helmet.”
“It’s like a Lego, like you just put the hair on. You just wake up, put your Lego hair on all day and it doesn’t move,” she quipped.
Still, “I think it looks good.”
