It’s official: after 34 years, E! News is saying goodbye.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the iconic nightly entertainment-news program will air its final episode on September 25, marking the end of an era that shaped pop culture coverage as we know it. The brand will live on digitally, but the beloved TV staple is coming to a close.
Roughly 20 employees were informed of the cancellation this morning — including current co-hosts Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester. (Yes, that Justin — Kyle Richards’ close friend who even joined Alexia Umansky on one of her bachelorette trips.)
Tonight’s show will be a repeat, with new episodes resuming next week until the curtain call in September.
Other nightly entertainment programs like Access Hollywood and Access Daily remain unaffected for now, continuing production out of Terrace Studios.
As for E!’s next chapter, it’s unclear which current correspondents — if any — will transition to the digital platform Versant or what their roles will look like moving forward.
For me, E! News was more than a show — it was a dream. As a young girl, I’d watch it religiously, picturing myself on a red carpet or writing about the glamorous, chaotic world of pop culture. While E! wasn’t in my stars, it helped carve the path that led me to Taste of Reality.
So tonight, we raise our glasses (and remotes) to a show that gave us breaking news, unforgettable moments, and a reason to chase the dream.
