Vanderpump Rules alums are making their voices heard regarding the upcoming Los Angeles mayoral race, with Dayna Kathan and Katie Maloney platforming a different candidate than Jax Taylor has publicly endorsed.
On the Disrespectfully podcast, Katie and Dayna hosted City Councilmember and mayoral candidate Nithya Raman, leading fans to assume that they are endorsing her campaign.
During the interview, they discussed Nithya Raman’s vision for Los Angeles’ future as a mayoral candidate. The conversation touched upon the contrasting platforms in the race, notably contrasting Raman’s commitment to the city. They addressed critical, local quality-of-life topics impacting residents, including housing shortages, the homelessness crisis, and general city management.
While the hosts did not offer an official, explicit endorsement statement, the episode served as a platform for Dayna and Katie to highlight Raman’s platform, which fans and media observers have widely interpreted as an expression of their political support.
Jax, on the other hand, was explicit in his support of The Hills’ villain, Spencer Pratt. Jax took to social media to back the reality TV star’s mayoral run against incumbent Karen Bass, expressing deep frustration with L.A.’s safety and homelessness issues.
Spencer’s unorthodox campaign has focused on strict enforcement of laws, a “treatment first” approach to drug addiction, and increasing the LAPD force.
Jax explained, “The race has nothing to do with politics for me. It has to do with cleaning up this absolute sh*t hole of a city I live in and making it safe again for our children and community. Right now, it’s a very scary, unsafe [place] for people to live.”
