Love Island USA executives are allegedly brainstorming ways to better vet contestants since Vasana Montgomery’s racist video resurfaced.
The U.S. Sun reported that the bosses at Peacock are looking for more efficient ways to monitor potential contestants’ social media history before they are cast.
Peacock execs are allegedly “embarrassed” after Vasana’s video was released. Especially after two season 7 contestants, Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega, were removed for their social media use last summer.
“The general feeling is not great. It is not a good look that this slipped through.”
“There are only so many ways to vet someone given all the different technologies and social media [platforms] that have been in and out over the years.”
However, executives are preparing to roll out a “change” to the vetting process. “The network is actively looking into ways to better vet contestants that give a more thorough scan of their social media profiles.”
“They are looking into AI options that will help dissect a potential contestant’s entire digital footprint and ensure that these slip-ups do not happen in the future. Precautionary measures are underway. There will be a change, an improvement, to the vetting process next season.”
