Love on the Spectrum‘s fan favorites Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman, have broken up after five years together.
Reports from The U.S. Sun, the pair couldn’t get on the same page regarding marriage.
Abbey wanted a husband, not a Boyfriend Forever:
A source confirmed the heartbreaking news. “Sadly, it’s true that David and Abbey broke up. They couldn’t come to an agreement on when to get married. She was ready years ago. He still needed time.”
While a separate insider close to David claimed: “They did break up, but he is doing very well.”
The shocking split marks the end of Love on the Spectrum’s longest-running and most adored relationship. Fans, myself included, were convinced wedding bells were just around the corner.
Abbey had openly spoken about wanting to wed David starting back in Season 2 of the show and even discussed her dream details of their future ceremony. By the time Season 4 aired, the couple appeared on screen briefly teasing major next steps in their relationship.
In one telling moment, Abbey asked her mom: “What if he gives me a wedding ring?” – sparking speculation that a proposal was imminent.
Abbey and David’s history:
The now-exes first met during Season 1 of Love On The Spectrum and quickly became the breakout couple of the franchise.
Their first date, at a wildlife park surrounded by their favorite animals, became an instant iconic moment from the series as the pair bonded over their shared love of lions, Disney movies, and earnest romance.
Abbey and David’s love blossomed both on and off screen, with viewers watching them navigate milestones including trips together, meeting each other’s families, and learning how to deepen their emotional intimacy.
Over the years, Abbey and David became the emotional core of the show and proof that the series’ mission to highlight authentic relationships on the autism spectrum could lead to lasting love.
Lasting longer than their love are Abbey’s songs about David – Boyfriend Forever and Categories.
