Instagram creator @vanderpumprulesparty pointed out a shady edit from the May 20th episode of Watch What Happens Live.
The East Coast feed:
After Andy Cohen introduced his guests, Janet and Jason Caperna, Janet was asked a follow-up question from a statement she made on The Valley (which was edited out of the episode, but was in the preview) just ahead of a game of ‘Work the Polls.’
“Why did you out Nia for allegedly needing Al-Anon [Alcoholics Anonymous]? Isn’t that supposed to be anonymous?”
Janet responded, “It absolutely is. That was wrong of me to say.”
“It was being spoken about in our group. I was asked to comment on it; I absolutely should not have. It’s an anonymous support group. I regret saying that. I’m very sorry.”
The West Coast feed:
Andy’s introduction of the couple was made, and the show cut directly to the game of ‘Work the Polls.’ The conversation about Janet outing Nia for “needing” Al-Anon was edited out of the show completely.
I couldn’t help but wonder, when did it click for Bravo TV that the Al-Anon convo should never have aired? If they edited the Al-Anon scene out of the episode, why would they ask a follow-up question about it on WWHL?
Bravo fans reacted:
@vanderpumprulesparty‘s caption stated, “Breaking the sanctity and anonymity of AA, AL-anon, or any other group like this is beyond disgusting. Janet should be fired for doing this. It breaks every moral and ethical principle in any situation ever. Itโs beyond egregious. Andy and Bravo as a whole owe Nia and Danny apologies. How sick and twisted. SHAMEFUL.”
Others joined the conversation.
- Janet isnโt sorry. She cares about no one but herself. Now sheโs gonna get more screen time just like she knew she would!
- Gotta love that Bravo doesnโt understand how quickly & easily theyโd be caught out ๐
- Andy shouldnโt have asked this question in the first place just further outing her
- Like they think East Coast/West Coast don’t talk? We’re not Tupac and Biggie.
Let’s break this down …
Bravo knew they messed up with airing the preview of Janet talking about Al-Anon in the first place. That’s why it was edited out of the episode.
Even after editing out sensitive information, Andy still asked the follow-up question about Al-Anon!!
I’m not sure if you clocked it, but this was a pre-planned question. Andy said it was the most asked question to Janet from Threads users. The WWHL staff even put the inappropriate question on a cue card for Andy to read from, further proving this was preconceived.
