A celebrity version of the BBC’s hit show, The Traitors, is coming in 2025!
According to reports from Deadline, “Star traitors and faithfuls are set to face off in the UK in a celebrity version of smash hit format.”
Come friend, come foe, come one, come all:
Several sources have told Deadline that an agreement between Studio Lambert and the BBC is close. “The hope is that the first celeb version will film next year and go out later in 2025, by which time three seasons of the ‘civilian’ version will have aired. Host Claudia Winkleman is expected to present the celeb version.”
The U.S. and UK versions of The Traitors are filmed back to back in a Scottish castle. Studio Lambert boss Stephen Lambert had said a celeb version was “obviously a possibility.”
Potential casting:
The Traitors has oodles of A-List fans, so the network “will be aiming high.”
A couple of years ago, a promo casting call video featuring Courteney Cox had fans speculating that the U.S. star would appear in a celebrity version … if the concept came to fruition.

British comedian Dawn French, AbFab actress Jennifer Saunders, and food journalist/chef Mary Berry all featured in a Celebrity Traitors sketch for the charity, Comic Relief. So their names have also been floated around.
If you’re not familiar with the British version of The Traitors …
There is one major difference between the UK version and the American version of the whodunnit game. 100% of the British contestants are non-celebrities, while the US version casts reality TV stars, celebs, and public figures.
In fact, the American iteration of The Traitors featured British celebrities: Season two featured Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and ex-politician John Bercow. Lord Ivar Mountbatten even won The Traitors season 3 with three other ‘faithfuls.’
The Traitors is huge in the UK as well as in the states:
The Traitors UK has been a ratings juggernaut for the BBC. The season two finale was the most-watched show on UK television in the week in which it was broadcast. Applications to be on the “civilian” version of the show have skyrocketed, from a couple of thousand for the first season to 40,000 for Season 2, and a reported near-300,000 for Season 3.
Season 4 of The Traitors UK Celebrity Edition is rumored to begin filming in April.
