The verdict is in — Taylor Frankie Paul will not face additional charges following an alleged domestic incident involving Dakota Mortensen back in February.
“Cried when I got the call,” Taylor wrote via Instagram on April 14. “THANK YOU to those that have stood with me.”
Back in February, two Utah police departments opened separate domestic violence investigations into alleged altercations between Taylor and her ex-boyfriend.
However, in an April 14 press release, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office confirmed they will not be pursuing charges against Taylor.
According to the release, the cases were reviewed by “multiple attorneys” due to the “high profile of the defendant.”
Per PEOPLE, prosecutors stated that some of the incidents lacked “specificity as to when and what actually occurred or corroboration.”
The statute of limitations was also called into question.
The letter concluded:
“We would be happy to revisit this matter if additional information is developed which supports the prosecution of the suspect.”
The District Attorney’s Office also confirmed the investigations will not impact TFP’s probation status stemming from her 2023 arrest and indictment, and that “no additional individuals were screened for charges” in connection with the case.
ICYMI: The Bachelorette pulled Taylor’s highly anticipated season ahead of its premiere following the resurfacing of a 2023 video.
Now that she won’t face charges in this case, there’s a world where ABC could revisit those plans… or maybe that’s just me wishful thinking.
