Tara Lipinski shared a heartbreaking family update with her Instagram followers.
The former professional ice skater revealed that her surrogate experienced a pregnancy loss during the second trimester.
“A few months ago, we lost our baby in the second trimester. We’ve been on our second surrogacy journey for two years now,” Tara wrote on May 1.
“Our first surrogate, who carried Georgie, wasn’t medically cleared to proceed with our sibling journey. I grieved that ending and we started over. From the long road in finding a surrogate, to medical clearance setbacks, to a failed transfer, and now this loss… it hasn’t been an easy road.”
The Traitors alum shared that she feels “incredibly lucky” for the woman who carried their baby, noting she will always hold a special place in her heart—along with her first surrogate, who has continued to support her through this loss.
ICYMI: Tara has been open about her struggles with infertility, including undergoing four D&Cs.
She was later diagnosed with endometriosis, which required two major surgeries.
She went on to welcome her daughter, Georgie, via surrogate in October 2023.
