Candiace Dillard’s family just got a little bit bigger!
The former Real Housewives of Potomac star welcomed a baby boy — Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett — on October 3rd.
This is the Drive Back singer’s first child with her husband Chris Bassett. Chris has three children from previous relationships.

The Bravo star opened up to PEOPLE magazine about the origin of her son’s name.
“The meaning of his name was really important to me. I mean, there were a lot of names I liked that had meanings I did not like, so that just automatically tossed them out,” Candiace said.
“But as soon as I read the meaning of his name, I was like, ‘This is it. This is his name.’ “
You’ll notice that baby boy Bassett has two middle names. Candiace jokes that she’s “extra.” However, “Lee” is a nod to her father’s middle name.
“Naming him took longer than I thought.”
“I had been throwing names out to Chris the entire pregnancy and most of the ones I liked he was like, “Those sound like nepo baby names.’ And I was like, ‘Why are you just trying to kill my vibe?’ But Chris agreed with Jett. He was like, ‘Jett’s a cool name, he’s going to be a cool kid. They can call him J.B.’ “
In case you missed it: At the end of season 8 of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Candiace announced she was leaving the franchise after six seasons. Soon after that announcement, she announced her pregnancy. This stung considering Candiace began inquiring about IVF toward the end of her stint.
I would have enjoyed seeing Candiace’s motherhood journey, but perhaps she’ll make good on her promise and we’ll “see her again” soon.
