Former Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay has a new single with The 27’s, Miss Understood, which addresses how the misconceptions about her have affected her mentally.
While there isn’t an official music video yet(?!), there was an official lyric video. Its cover art features a sash that boasts the double entendre, Miss Understood. Terms including ‘pick me’ and ‘not a girl’s girl’ were featured on the fabric, playing into the song’s lyrics.
Miss Understood:
“Miss Home Wrecker. Little Miss People Pleaser. Words are cutting deep, but I just hide the pain. / Miss Disloyal. Little Miss Drama Seeker. Judge me on the screen – that plays tricks on the brain. / I can’t make you happy. You can’t make me hate me. I know you can never tell, but I’m feeling Miss Understood.”
“Miss, she’s Jealous. Little Miss Not A Girl’s Girl. With friends like me, who needs enemies? Miss Flip Flopper. Little Miss Center of the World. Judge me on the same decisions that you’ve made. I can’t make you happy. You can’t make me hate me. I know you can never tell, but I’m feeling Miss Understood.”
Scheana’s discography:
Fans of VPR’s early years may remember Scheana’s first single, What I Like, which she performed on the show. To her own chagrin, Stassi Schroeder was impressed!
The song synonymous with Scheana’s catalogue is 2013’s Good As Gold. Originally released as a dance-pop single, it found a resurgence in popularity in 2024 when Scheana collaborated with The 27’s on Good As Gold (Screamo Version). Scheana’s signature song was featured in an Uber Eats commercial alongside her then-castmates, Ariana Madix and Lala Kent.
That wasn’t the first time Scheana channeled Tom Sandoval’s infamous affair in her music. She and The 27’s released Apples, about her former best friend cheating with her other best friend’s life partner.
Additional singles Scheana dropped during her time on reality TV include One More Time, Shake That, Boy Crazy, Sweet & Sour, and Christmas Slay / Christmas Slay.
NGL, I’m manifesting a live performance of Miss Understood during WeHo‘s Pride Festival this year!
