Former Miss USA winner Nia Sanchez, who now stars on The Valley, revealed a dark side of the pageant world.
During an appearance on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Nia described a rehearsal that took an uncomfortable turn during Donald Trump‘s tenure as pageant owner.
“When Trump owned the Miss USA/Miss Universe organization,” Nia began, “there was one time when he brought all of his golf buddies to come watch all of us rehearse. It was actually kind of creepy.”
She recalled, “We were in the middle of rehearsals. He brought all of these older men in to watch us perform.” Nia added that Donald’s friends asked to take pictures with the women. That’s when things went from bad to worse …
Nia was forced to set a boundary, despite the power dynamic at play. “I definitely, very intentionally, grabbed and released one of their hands very specifically. I was like, ‘Don’t ever put your hands on me without asking.’”
This predatory behavior was consistent with Donald’s Miss Teen USA beauty pageant as well. Buzzfeed reported that Donald Trump walked into the dressing room while contestants — some as young as 15 — were changing.
“I remember putting on my dress really quick because I was like, ‘Oh my god, there’s a man in here,’” said a former Miss Vermont Teen USA.
Never forget how Donald Trump bragged about being able to ‘Grab them by the p*ssy.”
