The salty water of the Salt Lakes has calmed after The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars Mikayla Matthews and Whitney Leavitt ended their feud.
Next stop, world peace:
Mikayla posed the following message to Instagram: “I apologize in advance for breaking the internet today.”
“I had to take ‘Momtok survived’ to a whole new level,” quipped Mikayla.
She then shared a video of herself scrolling through Whitney’s Instagram account and realizing she now “follows” her on social media. Mikayla followed her back. The former frenemies are back to being friends … for now.
“War is over,” Mikayla wrote over the video with a teary-eyed emoji as she and husband Jace Terry excitedly jumped around in a circle. The video is also set to John Lennon’s Happy Xmas (War Is Over), further hinting at the end of their issues.
Looks like the MomTokers decided to Give Peace A Chance.
ICYMI:
Mikayla and Whitney have been at odds since season 1 dropped. During the show, Mikayala voiced issues with how Whitney treated her, which carried over into the season 2 premiere.
In the aftermath, Mikayla and Whitney have taken public jabs at one another via TikTok.
Whitney, who was briefly shunned by the MomTok group to start season 2, called out Mikayla for her allegedly pointed videos about her during the season 2 reunion.
An activated Whitney popped off. “It’s a double standard. You just sat here and asked me, ‘Do you feel like you justify your actions based off of your feelings?’ Well, [Mikayla] is someone who constantly belittles me and hurts me. So is she justified in her feelings to treat me that way?”
Nick Viall, the reunion host, was at a loss for words, then asked, “Why do you hate [Whitney] so much?”
Mikayla fired back, “I don’t hate anyone. But, I just get annoyed. I can’t help it.”
FYI, Whitney and Jennifer Affleck are competing on DWTS this season, which premieres on Sept. 16th!
