Mary Cosby is giving fans an update on her son, Robert Jr.
There wasn’t a dry eye in America when Mary Cosby and her son, Robert Jr., candidly discussed his struggle with addiction and substance abuse.
Telling your parent that you’re struggling is hard enough. Never mind telling them in front of the entire Country and their judgments. But that scene will go down as one of Bravo’s bests. I know it will help someone and we sincerely hope that vulnerability will continue to serve Robert Jr.
With his mother’s help, Robert Jr. went to rehab for 30 days, and is doing much better!
However, Mary still has her reservations and says it will take time before she’s able to trust him again.
The SLC star revealed on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show that she doesn’t give her son money, and he is now eager to get a job.
You might be wondering how his wife is coping during this transition. If you ask Mary, she’s not so sure that they were even married.
I do or I don’t know?
During season 4, Mary confronted her son over rumors she’d heard that he was married. At the time; he confirmed her suspicions. Today; there is no record he actually tied the knot.
“I called everywhere looking for [proof of marriage], and he’s nowhere in the city county building as married. There’s no marriage of them two,” Mary said.
What I gleam from Mary’s revelation is neither Robert Jr. or his “wife” officially signed their marriage license. Because of defaulting on the 30 day window to complete the paperwork, it nulled their effort.
“The marriage certificate is in his safe, and the safe is locked. He can’t get it open. We need to hire somebody,” Mary concluded.
Mary joked that she hopes they aren’t actually married. I’ll join that prayer chain!
