Southern Hospitality‘s Maddi Reese was accused of releasing a track, Poppin It, that was allegedly created by another DJ.
Republic’s VIP manager/DJ responded to the accusatory Instagram post defending her track.
The allegation:
Instagram creator @bravobravobri posted a comment from @chapterandversemusic. “Love the originality of this 😂.” Bravo Bri wrote, “Looks like Maddie Reece [sp] is being called out for not being the originator of Poppin It.”
The caption stated, “Looks like their song is called ‘Poppin It’ and the original song with the same beat is called ‘Droppin’ It’ performed in 2024.”
Maddi entered the chat:
“I have never heard these songs,” began Maddi. “Very new music producer here, as you know from watching season 3.”
Joe Bradley‘s girlfriend continued, “I made this song over a year ago, and as we know the season premieres later. Releasing music is about timing and I decided to wait until the episode aired to release it.”
Additionally, Maddi explained, “Producers use public domains for samples to make music. I made my own beat, drop, and recorded different lyrics to my song I made,” clarified Maddi.
“I have never heard any of these songs before in my life, but glad I still put our version out there.”

Maddi is enthusiastic about making new music.
In fact, she mentioned she would “love to” collaborate with the former Countess. “I literally just did a podcast with The Bottoms, and they were hammering me to do a remix of the Jovani song.”
“I was like, ‘Oh my God,’” expressed the DJ. “Then, I saw Andy Cohen yesterday, and he made a comment” about Joe hooking up with Luann. “He’s like, ‘I’m so sorry. You’re never going to hear the end of this.’”
Maddi laughed, “I know” before saying she would “love to” collab with Lu. Fans even requested Southern Hospitality’s resident DJ “should put [a Feeling Jovani remix] on SoundCloud and see if she hears it or whatever.”
