Lala Kent and Scheana Shay discussed the recasting of Vanderpump Rules and if they would have done anything different regarding the show’s breakout star, Ariana Madix.
During an episode of the Scheanagans podcast, Lala explained how she has no regrets about what she said about the Broadway star. She does, however, regret not telling Ariana in advance what she said.
Lala’s first regret:
“I was adamant about season 10 – I am not coming back to Vanderpump Rules.”
Lala reasoned, I’m on such a f*cking high, and they’re like, ‘Just one more season.’ I was like, ‘This is going to turn out very bad. Just letting you know.'”
“It turned out worse than I figured it would.”
Lala was asked, “Would you have done anything different?”
“No. I wouldn’t,” began the mother of two. Before reassessing her stance. “So, there’s one thing I would have changed, and it wasn’t on camera.”
“I wish that after the finale, after I lost my mind, I would have called Ariana and said, ‘I want to let you know that I said some really hurtful things. It will probably be friendship ending.'”
“It was not my style … I can’t even believe that I didn’t do that because I’m so adamant about when I say things behind your back, I’m going to say it to your face. I still went to her show; I still supported her all while knowing that I said what I said.”
“In my mind, I think I compartmentalized it … That had to do with the show. I was angry at her for the show. I wasn’t angry at her. I don’t regret saying what I said, I regret not giving her the heads up and saying, ‘I said this because of XY, and Z. I should have told you sooner on camera. But here’s a heads up. This is going to come out.'”
