The Duggar family continues to make headlines.
Joseph Duggar’s wife, Kendra Duggar, was arrested just two days after her husband, with charges that are reportedly unrelated to his case.
A source with knowledge of the situation exclusively told Us Weekly on Saturday, March 21, that after Joseph’s arrest, authorities conducted a home check because minors live in the household.
“After his charge, they automatically do a home study if minors live there. They came to her house,” the source claimed.
According to the insider, investigators allegedly found two rooms where the locks were installed on the outside of the doorknobs instead of the inside.
“They arrested her and took her kids for that, saying it’s evidence that she wrongly detains her kids,” the source told the outlet.
A spokesperson for the Duggar family later confirmed that Kendra’s charge is not connected to Joseph’s arrest.
“[Kendra’s] is a misdemeanor charge totally unrelated to the Florida case,” the spokesperson said.
ICYMI: Joseph was arrested on March 18 on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior after allegedly molesting a 9-year-old child in Florida nearly six years ago.
According to reports, the victim — now 14 — told police that the 19 Kids and Counting alum later apologized at the time, and the incidents stopped afterward.
Joseph is also facing four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.
Kendra was arrested on Friday and released the same day after posting a $1,470 bond.
Joseph, meanwhile, is currently awaiting extradition to Florida.
