Being engaged wasn’t all jelly beans and gummy bears for Kelly Bensimon. The Real Housewives of New York personality called off her wedding to financier, Scott Litner, just four days before the ceremony. “I have decided that my two daughters are my priority and I won’t be moving forward with this wedding,” said the ‘Scary Island’ socialite in a statement before asking for privacy.
Cold feet?
Kelly “called it quits with the twice-divorced father-of-three on Tuesday afternoon, the same day we hear she was set to pick up her three wedding dresses from Kleinfeld’s. The former couple were set to say I do in Boston in Litner’s mother’s back yard in front of friends and family on Saturday. Along with the backyard Boston ceremony, the pair had planned to have a second blow-out in the Hamptons.”
The RHONY Legacy Ultimate Girls Trip personality just went on a “mini bachelorette trip with her two daughters Sea, 26, and Teddy, 24, at Sandals Dunn’s River in Jamaica.”

Kelly and Scott got engaged last year during a 4th of July vacation to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, near where she grew up. In an interview with People, Kelly gushed, “When I first met him, I didn’t even say anything. I was speechless — which is not like me, I always have something to say. But, he blew me away. He’s just a really special human.”
In September, Kelly put her downtown apartment up for rent to move in with Scott. Just this month, she told Page Six she had almost wept while trying on wedding dresses. ‘I’m getting married later in life and I never thought this would happen. I just would not change this day and the leading up to it.’”

Do Kelly’s adult daughters dislike Scott? Kelly’s statement noted she wanted to do what’s best for her daughters. Also, she had just gotten back from a island getaway with her daughters when she called off the wedding. Just a theory.
