Katie Maloney is calling out Lala Kent for what she sees as “weird” behavior toward her ex-husband, Tom Schwartz.
On the May 13 episode of her podcast Disrespectfully, Katie responded to Lala recently admitting on her own podcast that losing their friendship was the “hardest friendship breakup” she’s ever experienced.
However, Katie explained her issues with Lala go far beyond the season 11 Vanderpump Rules reunion.
“Obviously I’ve moved on from my divorce and from Tom,” Katie began.
“But her moving weird with that stuff, like the joking of being with Tom and even seeing stuff on The Valley of her constantly joking about hooking up with him,” Katie said, also referencing their “peck” in the pool.
Katie admitted it felt odd watching her former friend flirt with her ex-husband while simultaneously mourning the end of their friendship.
“You’re gonna cry about our friendship, but then do the very, very thing that you did when you first came onto that show that made me hate you and was trying to make me feel insecure — more insecure in my relationship than I already was.”
Ultimately, Katie doesn’t believe reconnecting with Lala would lead anywhere productive.
“I just think that it would be cyclical with her if we were to keep doing it,” she added.
ICYMI: Katie and Lala’s friendship never recovered after Lala brought up a private conversation where Katie vented frustrations about business partner Ariana Madix.
From Lala’s perspective, she was trying to show viewers that the cast wasn’t being fully “real” about their feelings toward Ariana during the final season of Vanderpump Rules as we knew it.
In the process, she lost one of her closest friends.
