Katie Ginella is questioning why The Real Housewives of Orange County cast is heading to Tokyo, Japan for their season 20 trip.
The RHOC alum posted an emotional video on April 25, sharing her reaction to the news.
“Can you tell me if my tears are overreacting,” Katie began.
“Because I can’t for the life of me figure out why they would go to a country with zero respect for Asian culture.”
Katie went on to allege that during her time on the show, her efforts to highlight her Asian identity were often dismissed.
“Everything was a joke to them,” she continued.
She also pointed to past tensions with former cast mate Gina Kirschenheiter, explaining that her attempt to spotlight Asian designers became a point of contention.
Still, Katie made it clear her reaction isn’t about wanting back in with the group.
“It’s not because I need to be there or need to be with those ladies, it’s because of what that trip represents.”

ICYMI: Katie joined RHOC in season 18 after being introduced as a friend of Gina Kirschenheiter.
The South Korea-born former golf reporter and mom of four had a rocky run with the group, and during season 19, she was accused of leaking storylines to bloggers and was ultimately iced out.
Katie announced her departure on January 9, 2026, ahead of the show’s milestone 20th season.
