American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee responded to Chrishell Stause‘s comment that she is an “insecure” woman who supports “problematic” men.
Katharine has garnered attention for her support of Spencer Pratt for mayor of Los Angeles. She and her husband, David Foster, hosted a fundraiser at their Brentwood Park home for Spencer’s campaign. The songstress even serenaded the mayoral hopeful.
The Selling Sunset alum, on the other hand, weighed in on Spencer’s mayoral run. “Can I please implore NO MORE reality star politicians, PLEASE! I have nothing against Spencer! In fact, I like him on TV! NOT in the government tho😩 CA please pull it together🙏🏼.”
How we got here:
Chrishell commented on content creator Jordy Cray‘s TikTok, which detailed Katharine’s romantic history. Jordy dove into the singer’s 2013 cheating scandal, when she was snapped kissing her “Smash” director, Michael Morris. Katharine was still married to her now ex-husband, Nick Cokas. Her paramour was also married at the time to another woman.
In a 2016 interview with Ocean Drive magazine, Katharine said she had “no regrets” over the scandal. Then, Jordy jumped into Katharine’s controversial marriage to David Foster, who has a very checkered past.
