Pop singer Jessica Simpson‘s split from Eric Johnson left her single, but not with the desire to become The Bachelorette.
The Irresistible songstress told TMZ that she has options.
There are plenty of chickens in the sea of Jess:
Jessica was asked about the rumors that she will be joining the ABC dating show. The pioneer of the celeb-reality genre quickly shut down hopes that she’ll follow in Taylor Frankie Paul’s footsteps as the next already-famous lead.
“I have options. I’m good.”
When further pressed about the show, Jessica revealed she’s unaffected if the reality show’s ratings would skyrocked with her as the lead. “I don’t care about that.”
Shutting down rumors:
The ‘With You‘ singer addressed claims that she and Eric are considering reconciliation after announcing their separation last year. The former Newlyweds star didn’t comment on the speculation but confirmed that she and Johnson are amicable, saying, “We’ve always been friends.”
Jessica announced her split from the NFLer in January 2025 after 10 years of marriage. There had been months of speculation that the duo were on the outs when Jessica cleared the air.

Speaking of Newlyweds …
Jess and her first husband, 98° crooner Nick Lachey, were famously (infamously?!) married from 2002 to 2006. It was documented on their three-season MTV reality show Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica, before they divorced, with Jessica filing for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences”.
The two singers met in the late ’90s just as their respective careers were taking off. They got married in 2002 and began starring on the MTV reality series Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica, which launched their fame to new heights.
Jessica recently made an appearance on Hulu’s All’s Fair, which received 0% on Rotten Tomatoes.
