‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City alum Jen Shah was released from Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, in the early hours of Wednesday, Dec. 10, as per reports from PEOPLE.
“Just where Shah headed after her release is remaining under wraps right now.”
Bryan Federal Prison has one less inmate:
Jen Shah was released from the Federal Prison Camp after being behind bars since Feb. 17, 2023. She served 2 years, 9 months, and 23 days for her role in a long-running nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme that targeted the sick and the elderly.
According to the Bureau of Prisons [BOP] policy, the former RHOSLC personality had two options leaving Bryan. Jen could either have been released to her home, or transferred to a halfway house to complete the remaining portion of her sentence under supervision. Although a final decision was made prior to her release, that information is not being revealed to protect her privacy.
The crimes:
Jen Shah, along with her first assistant, Stuart Smith, was arrested in March 2021 for allegedly targeting thousands of individuals in a nationwide fraud scheme. They were both charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Jen Shah pled guilty in July 2022.
“I am sorry. My actions have hurt innocent people. I want to apologize by saying, I am doing all I can to earn the funds to pay restitution.”
Lingering consequences:
Andy Cohen took to his SiriusXM radio show to “put a period on the end of that sentence” when it comes to any talks of Jen returning post-prison. According to Andy? The door is CLOSED.
“She’s not coming back to the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. I wish her all the best in her next life.” Andy fully expects Jen to pop up elsewhere in the reality TV landscape — just not at Bravo.
“It won’t be anything that I’m working on.”
