Very Cavallari‘s Jay Cutler, is being sued by the man he hit when he was drunk driving (with a loaded gun) in October of 2024.
In court reports obtained by PEOPLE, Kristin Cavallari‘s ex was hit with a lawsuit in addition to being charged with additional time behind bars.
The case against Jay:
About a year ago in Tennessee, Jay hit Perry Lee’s car while drinking and driving.
“Cutler failed to use reasonable and due care in the operation of the vehicle he was driving so as to avoid injury to other persons using the roadway, including [Lee].”
Lee’s attorney, Sydney Pierce, wrote in the suit, noting that Cutler was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
Time to pay the piper:
Perry Lee received unexpected medical bills and other expenses due to the crash, per the lawsuit. Lee “endured physical pain and mental suffering.” He also experienced a “loss of enjoyment of life as a direct and proximate result of the collision,” the document reads.
Perry Lee is also seeking unspecified compensatory damages. He “suffered lost wages, loss of earning capacity, or other out-of-pocket expenses as a direct and proximate result of the collision.”
Lee’s lawyers provided a statement. “Our client is a veteran who was injured in a car crash due to the alleged negligence of another driver.”
“His injuries from the crash cause him daily pain and have eroded his quality of life. We are seeking justice for him so he can get the care he needs to try to move forward with his life.”
Jailbird Jay:
Jay Cutler has been sentenced to four days behind bars after striking a plea deal in his DUI and gun possession case.
Kristin has yet to comment on her children’s father going back to the slammer.
Page Six reported that Jay is to surrender himself within a month.
