Vanderpump Rules alum James Kennedy‘s lawyers hope to get all domestic violence charges against him dropped.
US Weekly revealed a statement from the world-renowned DJ’s legal team.
Re: the DV incident …
They began, “We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James.”
“We understand that there were no injuries.” James’ lawyers continued, “We are hoping that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”
In case you missed it:
James Kennedy was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence on Tuesday at his Burbank home. The internationally known DJ and his girlfriend, Ally Lewber, attended Kathy Hilton‘s Christmas Party earlier in the evening.
Law enforcement told TMZ, a witness saw Kennedy and the woman arguing … with the reality TV star allegedly grabbing her at one point, though we’re told officers did not see any visible injuries on her.
“After investigating the situation, police say they determined it was a domestic incident … leading to the DJ being arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence. Sources say Kennedy was released after posting $20K bail.”
The tabloid was told “the Burbank City Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case for possible charges. Kennedy and Lewber have been dating since January 2022 … linking up mere weeks after the ‘VPR’ star broke up with former fiancée Rachel Leviss.”
Kristen Doute and Rachel Leviss have entered the James Kennedy chat:
Both former SURvers dated James during his stint on VPR. Rachel [formerly Raquel] was engaged to the DJ before she broke up with him.
Kristen-
The mom-to-be took to her Instagram story to share her feelings about seeing her former boyfriend’s arrest in TMZ. She posted the tabloid’s headline and added the caption, “FINALLY.”
Never forget, in February, Kristen claimed the James Kennedy abuse allegations aren’t “alleged” at all. During a podcast interview, The Valley star awkwardly chuckled as the host asked, “Does James have a DJ name? DJ Beats … Women, allegedly?”
After a pregnant pause, Kristen replied, “It’s not alleged.” What people are saying about James being abusive is “exactly right.” The host continued to revisit the headlines alleging James is physically abusive, Kristen interjected, “No. It’s not alleged.”
Rachel-
The former beauty pageant contestant’s lawyers weren’t shocked to hear the news of the DV charge against James. “This news is, unfortunately, not surprising. Rachel’s lawsuit describes, in significant detail, Mr. Kennedy’s long history of erratic, violent behavior and substance abuse.”
The attorneys called out the production company for VPR who they claim knew about the DJ’s “troubling behavior all along.”
