Academy Award-nominated actor Gary Busey was sentenced to two years probation after pleading guilty to groping a woman at fan event in 2022.
Moving on (without “public adversity”):
US Weekly obtained court docs that prove the case was “resolved.”
“Mr. Busey is pleased that the case has been resolved and that he can go on with his life without any continuing, daily public adversity.”
The sentencing comes after a three-year case. It involved several women who accused the actor of misconduct and harassment at Monster-Mania Con in August 2022.
“The actor was charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact, one count of criminal attempt/criminal sexual contact, and one count of harassment.” FYI, he allegedly touched two fans inappropriately, including “grabbing their buttocks and attempting to unhook one woman’s bra.”
No regrets:
At the time, Busey denied the allegations to TMZ. “Nothing happened.”
Gary, who was featured on 2008’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (not as an addict, but as an inspirational figure), added he didn’t have “any regrets” about the way he acted at the convention.
However, the Cherry Hill Township Police Lieutenant had more info. They told the Philadelphia Inquirer that authorities received “multiple complaints” about the actor’s conduct at the convention.
ICYMI, Gary pleaded guilty to “touching the buttocks of a female over the clothing.” He faced a maximum sentence of five years probation and a $500 fine. But, the shorter sentence allowed him to seek early termination after one year.
As part of the sentence, the judge barred Busey from having any contact with the victim.
Friendly reminder to the girlies to gird your loins … we aren’t safe out there!
