Derek Hough slammed Ryan Seacrest‘s false statement that he was disrespectful to the iconic Wheel during a commercial break on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.

Dancing With the Stars favorites Jenna Johnson and Bruno Tonioli joined Ryan and Vanna White on the season premiere of the iconic game show.
Ryan claimed he had to intervene during Derek’s appearance due to his alleged naughty antics with Bruno Tonioli. The former American Idol host said Derek hopped on the game show’s 2,400-pound wheel, which isn’t permitted.
On October 20, Ryan told USA Today, “In the commercial break, Derek was jumping on the center of the wheel and having Bruno spin it, much like the top of a cake ornament. We did say, ‘Please don’t do that. That would break it, and there’s only one of those wheels. If that breaks, we have a real problem.’”
“We had to sort of say, ‘Stick to the ledge,’” Seacrest noted.
Derek is calling out Ryan’s fake news:
The pro-dancer-turned-judge told his Instagram followers that Ryan was lyin’.
“Btw, this is 1000% NOT true,” wrote Derek alongside a screenshot of Seacrest’s comments.
Derek clarified, “I would never disrespect a set like that. However,” he joked, “how awesome that would’ve been to be ‘spun around it like a cake ornament?!’ Haha.”
The (gorgeous) elephant in the room:
I couldn’t help but notice how awkward the conversation between Derek and Ryan was throughout the game. Undoubtedly, Derek’s sister – Dancing With the Stars pro-dancer-turned-host, Julianne Hough – had something to do with it.
Never forget, Julianne and Ryan dated for several years. I clocked the tension between the guys. All the while, Derek gave protective brother vibes, and Ryan gave me the ick.
Ryan told the publication about filming Celebrity Wheel of Fortune with Derek. “Knowing someone, or being friends, is definitely helpful. You can kind of tease them more than somebody you don’t know.”
That’s an interesting *spin* from Ryan, for lack of a better term.
