Boy Meets World actress Danielle Fishel detailed the unaired story behind her choreography for Dancing With the Stars‘ Rock and Roll Night, for which she was eliminated.
Danielle revealed that the context behind her and Pasha Pashkov‘s contemporary dance to Aerosmith’s ‘Dream On‘ never aired and wondered if the outcome would have been different if it had aired.
Left on the cutting room floor:
“Contemporary is a very personal dance,” Danielle explained on the Nov. 4 episode of her Danielle With the Stars podcast. “It’s usually about something; it’s got some emotion.” She wanted their dance to convey a story “about the impossible standards placed on women, both from society and from ourselves.”
Danielle said that Pasha loved the idea and worked with “two people that he knows, loves, and trusts” to help bring the story of the dance to life. And while she and the pro-dancer spent so much time on the story, none of that made it onto the episode.
“While we were on the ballroom floor, I was listening to my package. I was like, ‘None of that was even mentioned,’” she recalled. “None of my story was even in the package.”
The podcaster noted that she and her fellow competitors don’t have control over what is included in the video introductions. In fact, she was unaware that so much of what she and Pasha were hoping to communicate wouldn’t be explained to viewers.
Danielle couldn’t help but wonder …
If the background information had made it into the episode, would Danielle and Pasha still be competing for the Len Goodman Mirror Ball Trophy?
Danielle wondered, “Are there things that I can look back on and say, ‘Maybe if those things had been different, the outcome could be different?’”
“But I have not one thing about this experience that I look back on and think to myself, ‘Oh, I regret this moment.'”
“I gave it my all. I really, really did.”
