Project Runway‘s Christian Siriano doubled down on why he doesn’t dress the majority of the Real Housewives … they feel entitled to get free clothes from his fashion house.
The Real Cheapskates of Bravo:
The Project Runway winner/host/mentor told Page Six he doesn’t dress most Bravolebs “because they don’t pay.”
However, Christian praised one Housewife for paying for all her clothes and couture … Bronwyn Newport’s checks are sure to clear!
According to Christian, the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star “bought two dresses yesterday. So, anyone who says Bronwyn doesn’t pay … She does!”
Celebrities VS reality stars:
Christian explained that he’s happy to provide dresses for celebrities, but not reality stars. “I think if you’re winning an Oscar, it’s a little different.”
“If you’re going to win an Oscar in it, no problem. A little different than going to the corner store on the episode of ‘The Housewives.’”
He mused, “A lot of people like free clothes, and not everyone needs free clothing. We’re not an endless closet. It’s a lot of work and energy and time and money that we put into clothes. This is what we do for a living.”
This isn’t the first time Christian Siriano noted Bronwyn is reliable paying customer in a sea of cheap Housewives:
Last October, Christian left the live Watch What Happens Live aghast with his revelation that Real Housewives stars “don’t pay” for their clothes … which is why he doesn’t dress them.
Andy Cohen asked Christian if he “ever dressed a housewife?” Christian responded, “They’re not on my list … They don’t pay.” The audience gasped. Taken aback by the audience reaction, Christian didn’t waver. “They don’t.”
The exception? RHOSLC‘s Bronwyn Newport.
“But, my newest housewife – Brownwyn [in Salt Lake] – is my number one customer.” He continued, Bronwyn “has been shopping for years and spends real money.”
“We literally make her couture. All [Bronwyn’s] confessionals are Siriano pieces,” added Christian.
Season 21 of Project Runway drops on Freeform, Disney+, and Hulu this summer.
