Dannielynn Birkhead honored her late mother, Anna Nicole Smith, when she attended a pre-Kentucky Derby gala with her dad, Larry Birkhead.
The iconic model/reality TV pioneer’s daughter explained to Access Hollywood how she paid homage to her mom.
Like mother like daughter:
Dannielynn’s outfit at the Barnstable Brown Gala was extremely sentimental.
The gorgeous 18-year-old model wore her late mom’s dress to the soiree. Dannielynn teared up with her loving father by her side as she explained how meaningful it is to wear her mom’s dress.
Larry proudly revealed, “Dannielynn is actually wearing the dress her mom wore to this event twenty one years ago.”
Dannielynn told the tabloid, “I feel good in it. I’m going to try not to cry when I say this, but I can’t know my mom, sadly. This is one of the only ways I can. This is the closest I’ll ever get to a hug from her, so I’ve been on and off tears the whole day.”
Larry acknowledged the “full circle” moment:
Dannielynn’s dad posted a beautiful photo collection and wholesome AF caption about his family. “Kicking off @kentuckyderby weekend with Dannielynn. First up, The Barnstable-Brown Gala.”
Larry began, “Dannielynn is wearing Anna Nicole’s dress that she wore 21 years ago to this same event. Life full circle.”
“She said she chose the dress because it was her Mom’s and ‘super cool.'”
Next up, the Kentucky Derby races. We are glad to spend time with my niece Chloe. I am going to try not to embarrass them with my dance moves. 🐎 🌹”

After Anna Nicole’s death, her attorney Howard K. Stern (no connection to the radio ‘shock jock’) claimed he was Dannielynn’s dad.
DNA testing confirmed Larry as Dannielynn’s father … after a very public legal battle.
Although Howard K. Stern claimed paternity and fought for custody initially, Larry was granted sole custody.
