The Hills personality Kelly Cutrone is working with the subject of Inventing Anna‘s Anna Delvey on another “media project” together.
The roommates launched a fashion PR firm, Outlaw Agency, together a couple of years back. According to reports from Page Six, “the ex-con and the People’s Revolution founder are expanding their outré empire, it seems.”
The announcement:
Kelly began, “We’re starting a media project… We’ve been developing it slowly here at the house, and we have hundreds of hours of footage, and we’ve been putting it together.”
Anna and I are “working with a pretty established production company, where we will co-executive produce our project. It’s like ‘Green Acres’ for people in Gucci boots.”
The logistics:
While on house arrest, Anna Delvey moved into Kelly’s rural home in NY state. ICYMI, Anna posed as a German heiress and defrauded individuals and businesses out of tens of thousands of dollars.
A judge recently relaxed the conditions of her confinement by ICE, and she’s now spending time in Manhattan once again. Anna was even a contestant on season 33 of Dancing With the Stars with professional partner, Ezra Sosa.
Who is Anna Delvey?
Anna ‘Delvey‘ Sorokin, is a con artist and fraudster who posed as a wealthy heiress to access upper-class New York social and art scenes from 2013 to 2017.
She emigrated from Russia to Germany with her family at the age of 16 in 2007. In 2011, Anna left Germany to live in London and Paris before relocating to New York City in 2013, where she interned for the French fashion magazine Purple.“
Anna’s brainchild was to build a private members’ club and arts foundation. It included leasing a large building to feature pop-up shops and exhibitions by notable artists she met while interning. She later created fake financial documents to substantiate her claims of having a multi-million-euro trust fund. Additionally, Anna forged multiple wire transfer confirmations.
The big scam:
Anna used these documents, as well as fraudulent checks, to trick banks, acquaintances, and realtors. She was given cash payments and was granting large loans without collateral. This funded her lavish lifestyle, including residencies in multiple upscale hotels. Between 2013 and 2017, Sorokin defrauded and deceived major financial institutions, banks, hotels, and individuals.
In 2017, the NYPD arrested Sorokin in a sting operation. In 2019, a New York state court convicted Sorokin of attempted grand larceny, larceny in the second degree, and theft of services. She was sentenced to 4 to 12 years in prison. After serving two years she was released on parole. Six weeks later she was taken into the custody for deportation to Germany. In October of 2022, Sorokin was granted a $10,000 bail bond and released from jail.
While serving house arrest, Anna was invited to compete on Dancing With the Stars. She placed last and left with infamously said she left the competition with “nothing.”
