The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt is setting the record straight about her reaction to Jen Affleck’s elimination from Dancing With the Stars.
During an interview with Decider, Whitney addressed the viral moment when she appeared to smile after Jen was sent home.
“Let’s set the record straight,” Whitney explained. “I genuinely, to God, don’t remember being like, ‘He he, ha ha, you’re going home.’ That was not the intention.”
Whitney admitted she was naturally relieved that her own name wasn’t called, since she wanted to remain in the competition. However, she acknowledged that one person’s elimination brought her a little extra satisfaction.
“Of course I’m happy that my name isn’t called because I want to stay,” Whitney said. “I would have been relieved if it was anyone… but I was a little happy it was Jen.”

The reality star is returning to Broadway this December, where she is set to play Sandra Dee in Just In Time.
Her decision to step away from the Hulu series comes amid plenty of drama surrounding the cast, including the fallout from Taylor Frankie Paul’s scandal.
While Whitney may be leaving the Mormon Wives behind, fans will still see plenty of her on television. She’ll be back in the Dancing With the Stars ballroom this season to support her husband, Conner Leavitt, who is competing for the Mirrorball Trophy.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 is streaming on Hulu. Dancing With the Stars Season 35 premieres on Tuesday, September 15 on ABC and Disney +.
