Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp gave an update after an upper bleph procedure as she continues her cancer treatment.
Upper blepharoplasty is an outpatient surgical procedure that removes excess skin, muscle, and localized fat from the upper eyelids to improve vision obstruction or create a more rested, open appearance.
The equestrian shared an update on her recovery. “I get my stitches out Thursday,” Teddi said. “I have immunotherapy Wednesday.”
The reality star also gave fans a glimpse into her recovery, sharing a photo of herself with an ice pack over her eyes during immunotherapy. Her caption revealed, “ALl the cancer scans came back good. Immunotherapy time and ice time for blephy poo.
Meanwhile, Beverly Hills-based plastic surgeon Dr. Sarmela Sunder offered a behind-the-scenes look at Teddi’s procedure, including before-and-after photos. “Teddi had noticed that the skin of her upper lids had been weighing heavily on her over the past couple of years,” Sunder explained in an Instagram post.
The surgeon noted that fluctuations in weight can contribute to loose skin, citing natural causes, pregnancy, prolonged steroid use, and medications as potential factors.
According to Sunder, Teddi had been considering the procedure for some time but wanted to wait until her oncologists medically cleared her to move forward.
“She got the ‘all-clear’ and we were able to perform the procedure under local anesthesia,” Sunder shared. “Just like everything else in her life, Teddi handled it like a true champ!”
