Taylor Frankie Paul is speaking out following recent headlines alleging a dispute between herself and Dakota Mortensen that turned physical.
In an exclusive statement to Us Weekly, Taylor insisted there’s more to the story.
“There’s more context to everything, and it’s unfortunate. It’s been hard. And it sucks to be in this position — the mother that I am, that is something I will always stand my ground on,” she said on March 17 during a NYC press event.
The upcoming Bachelorette then defended herself as a mother amid claims her children were present during the alleged fight.
“I believe that I am a good mother and I have always treated my kids very well. So the headlines that are out right now are very hard to see because that’s not the truth of it. I have always treated my children with respect and I’ve never touched them. So it’s been really hard.”
Taylor also admitted it took “everything” in her to attend Tuesday’s event, calling the timing of the allegations unfortunate.
“It’s another premiere that’s been taken away from me. I’ve never enjoyed a premiere for any one of my shows, so it’s just been very sad.”
ICYMI: Production on Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is currently on pause following reports of a domestic incident between Taylor and Dakota that allegedly happened last month.
Sources claim Taylor choked Dakota with his necklace during the altercation, leaving visible marks that later led to police involvement.
Since the story broke, Cinnabon has reportedly cut ties with The Bachelorette and Taylor, and some viewers are now calling for ABC to pull Season 22 altogether.
