Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Tamra Judge received a DM from one of Wendy Osefo’s neighbors stating that their community felt something sinister was happening in the Real Housewives of Potomac star’s home.
Word on the street (literally):
On the Two Ts In A Pod podcast, Tamra divulged that Wendy’s neighbor reached out to her on Instagram. “Basically, they all got notices on their front door or in their mailbox that there had been a burglary at Wendy and Eddie [Osefo]’s house.”
“Instantly, the whole entire neighborhood was thinking, ‘This is insurance fraud.’”
According to Tamra, the neighbor told her their community couldn’t believe a burglary had occurred. “I don’t know if the area where they’re at is known for burglaries. But she is on TV. So that’s a different level.”
“But they all thought something was kind of shady about it,” she added.
Felony fraud charges:
Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie, have were booked on criminal fraud charges last week. The couple was booked Thursday night in Westminster, Maryland and released on $50k bail each.
The couple reported a burglary in April last year, claiming “they found their bedroom ransacked after returning from a trip to Jamaica.”
According to the prosecution’s bail recommendation documents, the couple reportedly told police several designer bags and jewelry had been stolen.
However, Wendy was later seen in a social media post wearing a diamond ring she claimed was stolen.
It was determined there was a plan in action all along. Several of the items the Osefos claimed were stolen had been purchased – and returned for refund – by The Osefos. They concluded Wendy and Eddie returned items to the store “where a full refund was provided prior to the alleged burglary” still claiming they were stolen.
The documents indicate the couple had claimed a $450,000 personal property loss to an insurance company.
