Real Housewives of Orange County fans are going to see a new side of Tamra Judge on the show’s historic 20th season.
In an interview with an Extra correspondent, Tamra gave insight to how approach to the upcoming season differed from her approach in years past.
Tamra announced, “I didn’t cause any drama,” which left her castmates “shocked.”
“The lobotomy worked,” she joked. “I swear I didn’t cause any drama.”
Between her friend/business partner Teddi Mellencamp’s devastating cancer diagnosis and the rumors Tamra faced of being a leak, the drama wore on her. “I didn’t know if I wanted to come back.” Ultimately, Tamra explained, “I came back, and I think that watching a good friend go through stage 4 cancer and seeing how life can change so quickly” made her change her approach to filming.
Tamra reconsidered her POV on filming after season 19. “I don’t need to call people out. I don’t need to be the tough girl.” She continued, “I can let my guard down, which I’m not good at. I’m just not. I did that this season and it was well received. Very well.”
While Tamra wasn’t the nucleus of this season’s drama, she didn’t come out unscathed. “I got in one fight [with Vicki Gunvalson]. It was warranted. She did something not very nice and talked about my child. I have an estranged daughter, so it’s very heartbreaking. When I got divorced, two of my kids don’t speak to their dad. One of the kids doesn’t speak to me. It’s a very hard situation. I hate it. I don’t want it for either of us. It was something that was talked about not in a good light.”
“I was very drunk when I addressed it,” admitted Tamra.
