Rodrigo on coming out:
In an interview with Glaad.org, Rodrigo detailed the differing reactions he got from his parents.Ā āMy mom didnāt initially believe me. She thought I was just saying something to get under the skin. She was a hardheaded Latina which, you know, born and raised knowing how that that can be. It took her a lot longer to realize and accept that even though my oldest brother is 20 years older than me and heās gay. For her, it took her some time to get used to it.ā
His dad, on the other hand, took the news beautifully. āHe literally was just like, āI love you. Youāre my son.'” Take notes, parents.Ā
