The day after Sonja Morgan was unexpectedly presented with a $1K bill at Tucci’s that she wasn’t prepared to pay, the former Real Housewives of New York star took to Instagram to reclaim her spot as sexy socialite.
Sonja in the City:
After Sonja was slighted at Tucci’s, she had an “Amazing night at Rocco’s on E 57th street. Soup to nuts!”
Playing into a quirky storyline from the good days of RHONY, Sonja joked, “Definitely wasn’t leaving without the lobster 🦞 doggy bag for days 🤗.”
She added, “Great crowd and top service. 👊🏻🍸 to ensure another invitation into the establishment.
I was supposed to go Mother’s Day! Glad I made it. 🌺
Sonja’s scene at Tucci’s:
“Hysterical” Sonja Morgan was the straw that stirs the drink at Tucci when she refused to pay her $1,000 bill on last weekend and got blacklisted. A source told Page Six the RHONY alum shouted, “I’m a celebrity” when she learned he meal wasn’t being comped.
The tabloid reported, “She called owner Max Tucci after being handed a $1,000 check demanding a comp.” One of the reasons she claimed she couldn’t pay is “She’s a single mother” … to 24-year-old Quincy Adams Morgan.
Sonja paid the bill, including a tip, on Monday, but she’s no longer welcome at the popular NoHo spot. Page Six was told she has been given free meals by the restaurant in the past. She had mistakenly assumed that that would be the case again.
For the record, Sonja requested a table for three, but arrived with a party of five … on a busy night. “Things went downhill when the server delivered a bill for almost $1,000,” the onlooker shared. “I don’t pay. People pay me [to go to their restaurants].”
A miscommunication?
A source spilled, “She was absolutely entitled and caused a scene about not paying.” Sonja confirmed to Page Six, “There was a clear miscommunication.”
“I believed I was dining in exchange for a promotional post. I made that known to staff.” A fed-up Tucci defended his staff. Sonja is now blacklisted from Tucci. “It’s not about me. Don’t do that to my staff.”
ICYMI … Sonja posted a screenshot of a message from Tucci’s the night she became “hysterical.”
“Please, if you’re in the City, come by for dinner.”
