The Real Housewives of New York Legacy cast may be off our screens, but Sonja Morgan revealed that the original groups of ladies stay in touch via group chat.
Sonja told The Daily Mail that the OGs are hoping to find a producer for the new show they want to make.
The group chat:
Sonja told about the chat called OG Beauties, which was named by Kelly Bensimon.
Despite the distance between several of them [Sonja, Bethenny Frankel, and Ramona Singer live in Florida now], the group chat keeps the ladies linked.
Sonja said, “I ran into Bethenny at a Ryan Murphy, the Swans premiere. We were just so excited to see each other.”
Dorinda Medley and Sonja ran into each other “at a women’s empowerment thing and we were in tears when we saw each other.”
“It’s real. The care is sincere.”
Sonja revealed there was a recent scare over Ramona’s whereabouts. “We were all worried recently about Ramona because we didn’t hear from her for like three hours. And then I said, ‘Here she is, girls… She’s playing golf. She’s fine.'”
“You know, when you play golf, you’re gone for five hours. You’re not answering. So we are keeping track of each other.” (No Sonja … we don’t know, lol.)
Organic friendships:
Sonja was already friends with Luann de Lesseps, Ramona, and Jill Zarin before joining the cast. She credits their genuine friendships to the show’s success.
“We were friends before the show, all of us. That’s why Andy Cohen’s book said the best franchises are the ones where you really are friends. I think that the downfall of our show was when they started trying to pop new talent in there. [They] really didn’t know us or trust us even. So that doesn’t work, as we all saw.”
“We were all friends before. We still are. And no matter what happens, any kind of drama again, we’re like a family dealing with that and getting through it. We have too much to lose a friendship over a stupid squabble. We love each other.”
Le gasp:
Sonja spilled that the RHONY Legacy cast are shopping a new project. “We’re all working on getting a show.”
“We all have our tentacles out there with different producers. Obviously, the want is there.”
“It’s getting it all together and then in time to get the money raised.”
