Project Runway‘s Sha’Vi Lewis passed away at 39.
Sha’Vi’s sister, Akira, shared her family’s heartbreaking news. “We are in a state of disbelief as we come to the reality that our star has been cast into eternity. As the days move forward we will continue to wrap our minds around a future without your presence.”
The season 18 Project Runway contestant was a shining star in the fashion world. His sister penned, “While the world is just catching on to the name Sha’vi we knew he was and is great! Continue to pray as we mourn the loss of our loved one, Franklin Shavi Lewis Frierson Jr.”
Akira did not have a comment at this time on how her brother died.
About Sha’Vi:

He grew up in New Jersey and found his love for fashion at a young age, which then blossomed when he was in high school. Sha’Vi attended Clark Atlanta University before creating his own clothing line. He also held a role as creative director for menswear company Stephen F.
While competing on season 18 for judges Karlie Kloss and Christian Siriano, he became friends with fellow contestant Brittany Allen, who also shared a heartfelt tribute to Lewis. “I don’t have the words. My heart ache.”
