Vanderpump Rules alum Scheana Shay detailed her “truth” as to what ended her friendship with The Valley‘s Lala Kent.
On her podcast, Scheananigans, Scheana revealed her side of what happened with her former BFF. “I sacrificed a lot for her. It broke my heart. So her heart may be broken, but her actions caused that.” Scheana continued, “People are asking why I can’t forgive her. I can, and I have. Apology accepted, access denied. I live by that.”
“This isn’t about not trying to repair the friendship. I tried many times. I feel like there comes a point when you realize you’ve exhausted every avenue and you have to accept that someone just wasn’t capable of being the kind of friend that you needed.” Scheana elaborated, “I don’t believe the friendship was healthy. That’s not the kind of friendship I want to be in.”
The Vanderpump Rules OG reminded her listeners that she didn’t bring their drama to a public forum – Lala did. “That’s when she framed it that she didn’t support my book and that my expectations were impossible for her to meet.” Scheana said this made her come off as an “ungrateful toddler throwing a tantrum over an Instagram post.”
Scheana continued, “This wasn’t the first time she betrayed my trust. But betraying my trust isn’t what ended our friendship.”
“What broke our friendship is what came afterward. After I found out what she told Jenna,” another former SUR employee. Scheana explained that this happened at the same time Janet told Brittany about Brock cheating on her when she was pregnant. “So I’m dealing with two of my close friends doing this to me. Both with good intentions, just not ok.”
Scheana said she needed time to process what happened, but “received the longest gaslighting text of my life. The deflection, the lack of accountability, and a pattern of behavior that had been building for years.”
A lesson was learned – Scheana can’t move on until “everyone is willing to acknowledge what happened,” which is something she didn’t get from Lala.
ICYMI, here’s Lala’s side of the story.
