The rumor that Real Housewives of New York was going on “pause” or even canceled was quickly debunked by Bravo TV.
Fake news:
While the network didn’t elaborate, they discredited the anonymous source that spread misinformation to a major publication.
A Bravo TV spokesperson clarified, โNothing is official. The show hasnโt been cancelled.โ
The ruuuuhhhhmuuuur and the nastiness:
It was INCORRECTLY reported that the network has decided to take RHONY off the air, with โhopesโ to reconfigure it. They claimed, “It doesnโt seem as if thereโs any great expectation that itโll be back anytime soon.”
The source alleged (falsely), โWeโre trying to figure that show out. We want to figure it out. We think thereโs still life in it.โ
Execs expect RHONY to return at some point and in some form, “but certainly not with all of its current cast,” according to Page Six.
As far as casting goes, it’s not an easy task:
The following claim comes from the same source that made the false allegation that RHONY was “canceled,” so take the following with a grain of salt …
Allegedly, Bravo hopes to overhaul the cast, but they are “having a hard time finding women who want to be involved.”
โAt this point, they’ve seen people’s marriages ruined, their kids’ lives ruined, their businesses ruined. Itโs just not a very desirable thing to sign up for.โ
RHONY Legacy:
In addition to RHONY reruns from seasons 1-11, we’ll always have the Legacy cast’s season of Ultimate Girls Trip.
ICYMI, RHONY Legacy is a spinoff of the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip that reunites the original cast of the Real Housewives of New York City. The six-episode series starred Luann de Lesseps, Dorinda Medley, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, and Kristen Taekman on a girls’ trip to St. John, aka Scary Island.
