Katy Perry is allegedly expected to testify at the upcoming trial over a $15 million California mansion against a family member of the Real Housewives of Dallas‘ Kameron Westcott.
According to reports from Us Weekly, the former Bravo personality will be support her family in person at the court hearing.
The allegations against Kameron’s father-in-law:
Carl Westcott is ready to battle the space-traveling pop star. “We want to face Katy Perry in court after all our family has been through.”
His lawyers plan to “continue to fight for Carl. In a shady quip at the Roar singer’s expense, “Not everyone who can carry a tune deserves applause.”
Katy will be questioned by Carl’s legal team regarding an 8-bedroom, 9-bathroom estate in Santa Barbara. Carl claimed he “executed a deal to sell Perry his home while under the influence of pain medicine prescribed following a procedure.” In the suit, Carl said he was not in the right mind to “execute the paperwork.”
The singer’s team scoffed at the allegation. They argued Carl was fully present during negotiations. They said he was even “talking to other potential buyers.”
ICYMI:
The first phase of the trial went down in November 2023. The court sided with Katy Perry’s team and ordered the keys to be turned over to her.
Both parties have been preparing for phase two of the trial, which is scheduled to start on August 21. This time, one of Carl’s witnesses will be his son, Court Westcott, Kameron’s husband.
Carl’s lawyers said Court will testify about the condition of the mansion before and after his father entered in-patient care for Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia.
Carl’s team will also be questioning Katy about her claims that the home had extensive damage from the time she purchased the home to the time she received the keys.
The Westcotts deny Katy’s claims.
In addition, Perry will be asked about her alleged rental of the home to actor Chris Pratt and whether she ever lived in the home with her ex, Orlando Bloom.
