Garcelle Beauvais got her power back since leaving the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after season 14.
The actress/Executive Producer told Variety how much better her mental health is since leaving Bravo TV‘s reality show.
RHOBH is dark:
“As great of an opportunity as it was to be on the Housewives,” began Garcelle, “but was also heavy on my spirit.”
“Walking away has given me my power back. It’s given me a sense of freedom, and I’m in a good headspace.”
Moving forward, Garcelle wants “to create.” I want to spend time with my family and friends. We live in a crazy world right now, and anywhere you can find joy and hold on to it for a bit is where we should all go. I am enjoying joy, peace, and my life at this point.”
While her exit initially shocked fans, viewers who watched the three reunion episodes gained context for her departure. The final reunion episode ended with Beauvais declining to take a cast photo, choosing to walk off the set instead. While reflecting on that moment, Garcelle said her decision to leave was her way of prioritizing herself at the time.
“There was a moment where I felt like I no longer belonged here. I no longer fit in here. It was definitely a moment of like, ‘This is not for me.’ It just didn’t feel right.”
Coming out of the dark:
After leaving RHOBH, Garcelle regained her peace.
She unfollowed several of her former castmates on social media, including her once-close friend Sutton Stracke … who she hasn’t spoken to since the reunion.
While Garcelle wouldn’t say she’d never return, she doesn’t plan on coming back to RHOBH. Thankfully for her fans, she’s open to returning in smaller capacities.
